Annual Orphanage Movie+Lunch outing

It was Valentine's Day, whilst i was in the midst of indulging myself in a bachelor and bacheleorette party, I received a call from my aunt inviting me to watch a movie with a group of orphans the next day. I accepted the invitation since I do not have much plans other than keeping myself occupied with tonnes of ACCA notes as well as homework.

This was my first time holding such a huge pile of movie tickets. I was very much taken aback when my uncle place those tickets into my custody.

There all together 35 movie tickets worth RM360. (adults+children)AWESOME!

Here are some of the orphans. Look at their excited faces knowing that they were about to catch a movie. =D

We watched The Green Hornet which premiered on the 27th Jan. It was a pretty much anticipated movie i longed for since it starred my favourite chinese artist Jay Chou. Somehow I received negative comments from my friends who had watched the movie and also came across poor reviews/ratings by professional raters.

Comments: Well to put it simple, it's downright disappointing. Jay Chou's acting skills albeit improving from time to time, he still sucks. Emotionless, poor command of English throughout the movie. But i knew he gave his best so I am still proud of him. This movie wasn't as hilarious as it has meant to be. The jokes were pretty much summed up by the 4 letter word L-A-M-E. Most of the time I was 'sweating' instead of 'lol-ing' But still some of the effects and action scenes have to be given credit. So my overall rating for the movie would be 5/10 This is just my personal opinion some people might end up viewing it as a great movie.

The movie ended at 6.00 pm. I was wondering what we were going to have for dinner. And my uncle said we'll dine in a chinese restaurants with the orphans. I heard from my uncle that the kids were tired of eating KFC not to say that they are rich it's just most people sponsored KFC to them. It's not like they could do anything about it. So I guess this would be a very much different meal for them. And so i forgot the name of this chinese restaurant. We booked 5 tables altogether.

These are the group of orphans that are no longer qualified to live in the orphanage. The managed to pursue their studies in college relying on sponsors from their benefactors. Some of them doing hotel, law etc

That's my benevolent aunt giving away angpows to the kids. It's still Chinese New Year period. Sadly I didnt receive any.

NOt forgetting me xD

According to my uncle, not all the orphans do not have parents. In fact some of them do have their own parents just that their mummy and daddy could not afford to raise them. They were resorted to send them to the orphanage so that their children will be taken care of under 2 conditions

1. They must convert their religion into becoming a Christian
2. Their parents cannot meet their children until they reach the age of 17 when the orphanage can no longer have them.

Like everyone else who got involved in this charity activity, I felt totally grateful that i have my mum and my dad with me working so hard to earn a living. Keeping them away from any disappointments is all i could do for now to repay them =D

Primary School Reunion

Nothing to do after lunch at Wazen , the venue for our gathering. I tagged along with 3 friends to Dreambox for a karaoke session. The rest of the peeps headed back home to take care of their own business.

Some of those people who attended today's gathering. Of course I missed those of you who couldnt make it. Thanks to Wei Yi for putting the effort to organize this small gathering. It has really been a while =)
